Gesher-Gan Internship (12th Grade)
Through the Gesher-Gan Internship, rising 12th graders work directly with younger campers and staff, gaining hands-on experience while helping guide the camp community. As new mentors, Gesher-Gan interns learn just as much as the young campers who look up to them.
This is an excellent opportunity for teens looking for ways to strengthen their college applications.
Enrollment Requirements
Gesher–Gan is open to rising 12th graders who are prepared to lead with maturity and intention.
Participants are expected to:
- Model positive behavior and Jewish values
- Take initiative and follow through on responsibilities
- Communicate respectfully with campers and staff
- Embrace feedback and personal growth
This program is selective and designed for teens ready to show up fully—for themselves and for others.
What Interns Gain
Interns leave Gesher–Gan with more than memories. They gain:
- Leadership experience guiding younger campers
- Professional skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Confidence from stepping into meaningful responsibility
- Stronger Jewish identity through lived experience and reflection
You won’t just learn about leadership—you’ll practice it every day.
College Credit Opportunity
Through a partnership with American Jewish University, eligible participants may have the opportunity to earn college credit for their internship experience. This adds academic value to a summer already filled with growth and impact. (Details and eligibility requirements are provided upon enrollment.)
Camp Activities & Responsibilities
Gesher–Gan interns are fully immersed in camp life while taking on added responsibility. Interns:
- Support younger bunks alongside experienced counselors
- Help plan and lead activities across camp
- Participate in leadership workshops and guided reflection
- Contribute to all-camp programs and special events
You’ll still sing at Shabbat, cheer at carnivals, and dance under the oak trees—but now, you’ll help make those moments happen for others.
