CIT: Counselor-in-Training (11th Grade)
In our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program, rising 11th graders take the next step from camper to leader.
CITs stay fully immersed in camp life while building the skills and confidence to guide others. This is where responsibility grows—and leadership practice sets a strong foundation for life after graduation.
Enrollment Requirements
The CIT program is open to rising 11th graders who are prepared to model maturity and initiative. Participants are expected to:
- Demonstrate strong character and accountability
- Support younger campers with patience and care
- Take feedback seriously and apply it
- Show commitment to the camp community
CITs are selected because they’re ready to lead with intention and integrity.
What CITs Gain
CITs don’t just prepare to become counselors—they begin acting like them. Along the way, they gain:
- Hands-on leadership experience working with younger campers
- Professional skills like communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution
- Greater independence through real responsibility
- A stronger Jewish connection grounded in daily camp life
By the end of the summer, CITs leave more confident, capable, and ready for what’s next.
Camp Activities & Responsibilities
CITs experience the best of camp while stepping into new roles. They:
- Assist counselors in supporting younger bunks
- Help lead activities and special programs
- Participate in structured leadership workshops
- Engage in guided reflection and skill-building sessions
You’ll still sing at Shabbat, compete in friendly color war, and laugh late into the evening—but now, you’ll help create those moments for others.
Tuition
The tuition for the CIT program is $7,495 for the entire eight-week summer. There is a $100 early-bird discount if you apply, are accepted, and enroll online with deposit by November 30.
Financial aid is available; you will be able to apply for scholarship once you enroll.
