Jewish Learning Experience Program
The Jewish Learning Experience gives high school students the chance to earn college credit while engaging in dynamic, thought-provoking Jewish studies, partnering with their local Jewish community to create a truly impactful learning journey.
Starting a Jewish Learning Experience (JLE) in your community is easier than you might think! Here’s how you can get started:
- Find a Community Partner
JLE programs run through local Jewish organizations, like a synagogue, youth group, or school. First, find a community that’s excited to support your program. - Reach Out to AJU
Contact the JLE team at the American Jewish University to let them know you’re interested. They’ll guide you through the process and answer any questions. - Plan Your Program Together
Work with AJU to figure out which courses to offer, when classes will happen, and who can participate. They’ll help make sure everything fits your community’s needs. - Recruit Students
Invite students who meet the enrollment requirements (grades 9–12, minimum GPA, and active in your community) to join the program. AJU can help with registration and course access. - Prepare Teachers or Facilitators
AJU provides the curriculum and support so your instructors can feel confident teaching the courses. - Launch Your Program
Once students are registered and teachers are ready, you’re all set to start your JLE cohort! - Stay Connected
Keep in touch with AJU throughout the program to make sure everything runs smoothly and students get the most out of their learning experience.
