Where JLE Began
Rabbi Carrie Vogel and Rabbi Daniel Sher of Kehillat Israel (KI) launched JLE in 2022 as as a small 25-student pilot.
The goal was to give teens a way to earn college credits through advanced Jewish studies—and prove that Jewish education can be relevant and challenging even after their b-mitzvah.
Now Rabbi Vogel is American Jewish University’s Director of Undergraduate Initiatives, leading JLE’s national expansion.
