A tallis, shofar, bowl of honey, red apple, and a pomegranate

Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year—but what is it really about?

Why do we fast? What am I saying in services? What should I wear? What are the major prayers, customs, and traditions? And perhaps most importantly, how do I prepare my mind, body, and soul for this sacred day?

Join Rabbi John Carrier for an engaging crash course exploring the meaning, liturgy, customs, and big ideas behind Yom Kippur. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the Day of Atonement and feel more prepared to participate with confidence and intention. He’ll also be teaching a Rosh Hashanah Unpacked crash course – register for that class HERE!

Attend one or both sessions! Register for each class individually, or attend both at a discounted price.

If you’d like to attend both, register for this session first. You’ll receive a discount code for $10 off the second class, bringing your total for both sessions to $50.

Can’t make it live? No problem—we’ll send all registered participants the recording.

Time: 6:30–8:00 PM PT

Cost

  • Single Class Admission: $30
  • Attend Both Sessions: $50 (register for one class first to receive the discount code)

The Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur classes are separate – you must purchase a ticket for both in order to attend both and receive the recordings.
