| Begin the Jewish new year by beginning at the beginning, with the Torah.
This October, join Rabbi Tarlan Rabizadeh for a new 10-week, in-person class from American Jewish University’s Maas Center for Jewish Journeys. Each Shabbat morning, we’ll gather around the table to explore the weekly Torah portion and the foundational stories and people who shaped our tradition. Together, we’ll ask what this ancient wisdom has to say about the lives we are living today. We’ll encounter questions of family, love, jealousy, loss, leadership, faith, conflict, forgiveness, and beginning again. If you’re dealing with something in your life, chances are our ancestors dealt with it first. This class is open to learners of all levels. Whether you are opening the Torah for the first time or have studied it for years, you are welcome at the table. No Hebrew knowledge is required. Just bring your questions, experiences, and curiosity. |
