• AJU is accessible to all major Los Angeles attractions and sits directly across the street from the Skirball Cultural Center and the Getty Center, and we happen to be on the same block as one of the city’s largest synagogues, Stephen S. Wise.

Los Angeles is home to world famous theme and amusement parks, each with a different personality. There is a whole menu to choose from all within a short drive from AJU:

• Hurricane Harbor
• Santa Monica Pier’s Pacific Park
• For those willing to drive just a bit south, there’s also Lego Land and Sea World

Los Angeles is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities on the planet and has a myriad of ethnic enclaves.  People who live here come from 180 different countries and speak 140 different languages.

You can also catch major plays and musical productions at Pantages Theater, Ahmanson Theatre and Geffen Playhouse. Smaller theaters dot the city where you can see up-and-coming performers as well.

L.A. County is home to 100 museums and range from those that specialize in fine art to La Brea Tar Pits, where you can see fossilized bones.

Los Angeles is geographically vast, and the opportunities for engaging in Jewish life run the spectrum. From synagogues to museums to kosher markets, there’s a bit of everything everywhere you look.

As one of the largest Jewish Communities in the world, Los Angeles has many Synagogues and Shuls to fit your specific requirements.  Every denomination is represented throughout the city, from Conservative, to Orthodox, to Reform, and everything in between, there are many choices that can meet your spiritual needs.

Let’s not forget the great Jewish neighborhoods in every part of this city such as Fairfax, Pico-Robertson, Encino, Valley village and that's just the beginning….

There is no other city in reasonable driving distance to the beach and snow-capped mountains – ask any Angelino and they will all tell you about the day they skied in the morning and watched the sunset on the Pier in the evening. L.A. is also close to a ton of great fun – Catalina Island, Channel Islands Harbor, San Diego, SoCal Wine Country – they are all nearby!

AJU students love to venture to the local beaches. Los Angeles beaches are perfect for running, walking, cycling, volleyball, surfing or rollerblading. Malibu Beach is great for celebrity sightings, Venice Beach for people watching and Manhattan Beach for surfing.

Each neighborhood has its flavor of fun, from West Hollywood and The Sunset Strip to the recently revitalized Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA).

Music fans might get lucky and catch big, well-known bands playing smaller clubs on the Sunset Strip or at a larger venue. If you don’t catch your favorite band playing at a small club, most artists play L.A at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, the Forum, or Staples Center.
