The Leadership and Sustainability Enterprise at American Jewish University (LaSE) seeks to support mid-level leadership enhancement in schools. The program is specifically designed for department chairs, academic deans, division vice principals and principals, assistant directors, and student life directors among other similar positions in early childhood through high school. These vital leaders play a critical role in maintaining the day-to-day functioning and infrastructure of schools, and this one-year certification program provides them with an essential toolkit to create generative and distributive leadership throughout the entire staff of the school. This is an ONLINE program with one full-day in-person workshop in August.
Certification candidates will:
- Participate in a Mastermind/Cohort setting allowing for a safe space to explore issues, and problem-solve with colleagues across the day school ecosystem.
- Develop practical skills, tools, and staff development exercises that can be used to enhance and ignite leadership across the school’s professional campus.
- Practice and hone these skills in a supportive group environment based on shared values, developing expertise, and desired self reflection.
- Learn to nurture and train early career educators who are interested in pathways to leadership in education.
- Be exposed to seasoned thought leaders/guest speakers inside and outside the day school world, all with a long history of leadership success.
