MEF & AJU Present: Israel’s 7 Fronts- Syria
Monday June 10, 2024 at 11:30am Pacific time | 2:30pm Eastern time
This is part 6 of our 7-part series.
Tehran not only dominates four Arabic-speaking countries (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen) but has reached new levels of aggression in the past half-year, starting with the Oct. 7 atrocity and followed by the bombing of Pakistan, impeding commerce in the Red Sea, and a drone and missile attack on Israel. Khamenei aspires to build a “Ring of Fire” around Israel, mobilizing seven territories working together to bring about Israel's destruction. How successful is this plan? Does the sum add up to more than the parts? How can Israel most effectively respond?
Join the joint Middle East Forum and the American Jewish University for a seven-part series on Iran’s seven fronts versus the Jewish state.
Hadeel Oueis is a writer and journalist focusing on the Middle East and is a research fellow at the Philos Project. She majored in political studies and in 2011, at the age of 18, was arrested by the Assad regime for playing a key role in the early days of Syrian protests. In 2012, the United States delegation in Geneva met with Oueis and helped her relocate to the United States. She currently analyzes U.S. policies in the Middle East for major Arabic networks. Oueis reported for years through the @JIMENA platform about Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews and has been an active voice in calling for peace in the Middle East.
