We all know those students who complete their work simply to earn a grade rather than investing in the learning itself. As educators, how do we help shift students’ mindsets and provide substantive feedback as we teach toward mastery, and not simply coverage? In this virtual salon, Batsheva Frankel (MAT, ’19) discussed student motivation, grades and authentic assessments, and pushing students to ask questions and be responsible for their own learning.
