Wine for Passover: More Than Four Cups!

10am PDT

We encourage everyone to watch the presentation live. It will not be available to view as a recording as we are currently working behind the scenes to improve the user experience.

The wines we choose for our seder table can tell powerful stories about our culture, regional identities and ritual.

Join South African wine entrepreneur and media maverick Wayne Sussman as he shares insights and tips about kosher wines for the holiday, as well as his personal journey to creating an unapologetically Jewish wine.

In conversation with AJU’s VP of Communications, Michelle Starkman.

To purchase wines for Passover, see Wayne Sussman’s recommendations here.

Wayne Sussman is the co-founder of Unorthodox Wines, a unique South African kosher wine with a standout label. The wines have been available on the East Coast, the Mid Atlantic and much of the Midwest and will soon be coming to California and the Pacific Northwest.

Wayne lives in Johannesburg, South Africa. When he is not working on the growth of Unorthodox Wines, he is focused on the steel industry and also often appears on South African television and radio, commenting on politics. He is also deeply involved in the South African Jewish community, where he chairs numerous organizations and plays a leading role in organizations like Limmud and Habonim Dror. He also sits on the board of the Morris Isaacson Centre for Music. The Morris Isaacson School was integral to the Soweto Uprising in 1976. The events at that school on June 16, 1976 shook South Africa and the reverberations were felt across the world.

He is married to Leigh, who is a Yiddish singer and has two children Benjamin Biden and Ella Aria.
