For Rabbi D'ror Chankin-Gould, serving as the Secretary of the Rabbinical Assembly is more than just a leadership position. It's a testament to the transformative education he received at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies.
Ordained by Ziegler in 2013, Rabbi Chankin-Gould has become a cornerstone of the Conservative Jewish community. He currently serves on the Rabbinic team at Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago, where his diverse background shines.
Before arriving at Anshe Emet, Rabbi Chankin-Gould honed his skills as a chaplain at UCLA Medical Center. His commitment to leadership extends far beyond his current role. He previously served as president of the Chicago Rabbinical Assembly and has held positions on the Rabbinical Assembly's Executive Council, Administrative Committee, and Gender and Power Committee.
Rabbi Chankin-Gould's dedication extends to the global stage as well. He is a member of the Global Masorti/Conservative Intermarriage Working Group.
As one of the five officers recently installed, Rabbi Chankin-Gould's journey exemplifies the impact of Ziegler in shaping future generations of Jewish leaders.
"Whether it was in the classroom or through mentorship opportunities," Rabbi Chankin-Gould continues, "Ziegler provided a space for me to explore my leadership potential and grapple with critical issues facing the Jewish community. This emphasis on fostering leadership resonates deeply with me, and I'm grateful for the foundation Ziegler provided for my journey in service."
