AJU Remembers Ora Band

American Jewish University was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ora Band z”l (1931-2019). Ora Band taught Hebrew at what was then the University of Judaism (now American Jewish University) and ran its Hebrew program from the 1970s through the 1990s. She was an excellent educator and devoted to her students. Mrs. Band also taught at other secondary and college programs throughout Los Angeles. AJU extends deepest condolences to Ora's husband, Professor Arnold Band, to the entire Band family, and to all those who were touched by the legacy of Ora Band. May god comfort the Band family during this time of their sadness, among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
