    Kehillat Israel Reconstructionist Congregation of Pacific Palisades (KI) is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative preschool teacher to join our growing Molly Steinsapir Early Childhood Center (ECC). Our school is inspired by a combination of emergent, constructivist, and Reggio Emilia philosophies, with a heavy emphasis on the Outdoor Classroom model and our Jewish values and traditions driving our curriculum and culture. In everything we do, we strive to engage the interests and skills of each individual child. Our educators provide nurturing guidance through modeling and positive teacher-student relationships. We are looking for preschool teachers who want to get to know their students, care about them, and see them as individuals. Every educator is an integral part of our staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities::

    Under the supervision of our ECC Director and Assistant Director, provide supervision of, and safety for young children aged between 18 months and 5 years old as needed. Apply KI’s ECC school philosophy to direct developmentally appropriate skill growth while meeting students’ individual needs. Observe all rules and regulations set by the organization, the Director, and the local, state, and federal agencies.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Meets all requirements of child care regulatory agencies, including any credentials for early childhood education. Energetic, creative, responsible, flexible and loves working with children. Has knowledge of the social and emotional needs of young children. Has a positive approach to work and collaborating with colleagues. Possesses strong organizational and communication skills. Works well as part of a team. Regular and consistent attendance. Previous preschool teaching experience preferred.

    Education/Experience Desired ● Master’s degree or doctorate in education, Jewish education, nonprofit leadership, or a related field. ● Proven success as a senior educational leader, ideally within a Jewish day school or similar setting. ● Experience managing faculty and staff, developing curriculum, and driving academic innovation. ● Demonstrated fundraising and development expertise with a track record of cultivating donor relationships. ● Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. ● Commitment to Jewish education, traditions, and the promotion of Ahavat Yisrael (love of Israel). ● Hebrew fluency or familiarity with Hebrew language and Israeli culture is highly valued.
